"I have always believed that everyone who has loved you and you them, every experience you cherish, and every struggle and triumph in this human experience is infused into every piece of art; simultaneously, subtly, and often times vicariously when words are inadequate. Art, especially of the abstract, can be a powerful voice, an expression of the artist's essence and real authenticity.
When we tap into that field of creativity and inspiration, the flow washes through the spirit, which then acts as a filter onto the canvas. Art then, is who we are, all at once, in every piece. Such is the abstraction of life." ~ Lauren Dickinson, Abstract Artist
Art has woven a beautiful tapestry throughout Lauren's life. Her art background includes formal studies in fine art and graphic design, having been creating art in various mediums since childhood. She attended art school in Washington for a few semesters, and received acceptance into multiple art programs, including the prestigious Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. Major family events kept her from finishing her degree, but the creativity remained as she focused on other career interests, namely in the healing arts thereafter. Her journey in the healing arts has included extensive energy work, spiritual life coaching, and Shamanic studies. Although she has picked up the brush periodically over the years, her wellspring of creativity remained elusive until the beautifully expressive world of abstract art opened itself to her in 2016, where her latent creativity and innate love for art has absolutely flourished.
Lauren's work thrives on color, texture, and movement. It is infused with stories, symbolism, and a rich palette of colors that evoke the awareness of each viewer's own hero's journey. Through the fluid use of expressionist abstraction, geometric concepts that infer messages from the conscious collective, and the intentional design of light and dark elements, Lauren's work evokes universal messages both to and from the collective and she intuitively infuses these visionary concepts into each painting. The result is many rich and diverse bodies of work that personify and reflect our innate human ability to tap into and receive inspiration from the beehive of the collective consciousness that we all share.
"I am deeply awe struck by the beauty and growth art has given me both personally and professionally, and it is something that has brought me a profound catalyst of healing to my spirit. I strive to inspire others through my work to follow their passions, and to always create that which they were created, to create." Lauren Dickinson, Fine Artist
Lauren's work was recently exhibited in Red Dot Miami, Art Marbella Art Fair, Madrid, Spain, and has current gallery representation in Venice, Italy. She has private and commercial collectors nationally and abroad.
